I'm Sarah Murgel.

I provide design leadership, insights, context and clarity that shape digitally transformative websites, products and experiences.

I have had the privilege of building and leading great teams creating successful digital experiences, strategies, websites, products, and services for over two decades.

Most recently, I was Vice President of Experience Strategy and UX in the Digital Marketing organization of Salesforce, where I served on the Digital Strategy organization's Leadership team. I led a robust team of forward doers/unicorns in User Insights and Research, Web Accessibility, Content Strategy, UX, UI Design, and Experimentation.

Our objective was to define and execute a vision for Salesforce Marketing on Salesforce Products...Salesforce on Salesforce. I am proud to have helped create a tangible vision for a truly data driven, personalized experience, with the power of Salesforce CRM, Data Cloud and AI at its heart. To deliver on this idea, we had to align on the right measurement strategies to determine success.

So through that lens, we designed the marketing experience we needed to generate meaningful and actionable engagement data and insights, the global design system that supported the experience, a custom CMS authoring experience for marketers to deliver on the vision, and the concepts for how the system would evolve over time as our data became richer and our AI capabilities became stronger. We broke the whole vision down to its parts and built a roadmap that connected the larger vision to tactical work on the ground. The result of this effort was a 165% lift in digital engagement, and it's still going. You can learn more about the initiative and results in this Salesforce case study.

Prior to Salesforce, I was Vice President of User Experience for Razorfish, the global digital agency, where I innovated with the best for 11 years. There, I worked with some of the most exciting brands in the world, such as Microsoft, Adobe, Intel, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Honda Motors, Kia Motors, Wells Fargo Bank, CompHealth Group, and the USC Shoah Foundation.

My core skills include Design and Creative Leadership, Visioning and Creative Leadership, UX and Product Strategy, System Design, Competitive/Comparative Assessments, Category Analysis, Trend Identification, Problem Seeking, User Profiles, Customer Journeys, Pitch Support and Development, Narrative and Storytelling, and Thought Leadership.

In addition to my roles in tech, and innovation, I've consulted in different industries to identify new business opportunities and design market-leading experiences. Some of the verticals I have designed for include

Agencies, Automotive, B2B, Biotech, CPG, Learning, Financial Services, Food & Beverage, Healthcare , Media, Retail, Start Ups, Technology, and Travel & Hospitality.
